Turn2Me Announces Mental Health Programme to Support Integration of International Protection Applicants

Dublin, Ireland — Turn2Me has unveiled a new mental health initiative designed to support International Protection Applicants (IPAs) as they adjust to life in Ireland. The project, “Supporting Integration: Mental Health and Wellbeing for International Protection Applicants,” will provide tailored counselling and support services to help participants build resilience and a sense of belonging.

International Protection Applicants often face significant challenges, including trauma from displacement, uncertainty around their future, and social isolation. This programme aims to address those issues by offering 500 one-to-one counselling sessions and 50 support groups specifically designed to meet their needs.

The support groups will create opportunities for participants to connect, share experiences, and build community, while counselling sessions will provide confidential, professional support to help individuals manage stress, anxiety, and trauma.

Moira Horgan, CEO of Turn2Me, said:
“Integration is not just about practical support — it’s about feeling safe, supported, and connected. Many International Protection Applicants face immense emotional challenges, and this project is about giving them the tools and support they need to rebuild their lives with confidence.”

As part of the initiative, Turn2Me will enhance its online platform to include video-based support groups, making services more accessible and engaging. Outreach efforts will include partnerships with migrant organisations and targeted awareness campaigns to ensure the programme reaches communities across Ireland.

The project is expected to support over 1,100 participants nationwide and will focus on promoting wellbeing, connection, and long-term integration into Irish society.

By combining professional mental health support with community-based engagement, Turn2Me aims to create a meaningful impact for individuals navigating one of the most challenging periods of their lives.
